Car Decal Application Instructions
A little preparation goes a long way! Follow these steps to help your My Pickle Crew decal apply smoothly and stay securely in place.
Your decal’s shape and design may differ from the illustration shown, but these instructions apply to My Pickle Crew decals supplied with clear transfer tape.
Before You Begin
You will need:
- Soap and water
- A clean, lint-free cloth
- An alcohol pad or rubbing alcohol
- A squeegee, credit card or your thumb
1. Clean the Surface
Wash the application area thoroughly with soap and water. Dry it completely with a clean, lint-free cloth.
2. Prep the Area
Wipe the application area with the included alcohol pad or rubbing alcohol. Allow the surface to air-dry completely before continuing.
3. Prepare the Decal
Place the decal on a firm, flat surface. Before removing the backing, rub firmly across the clear transfer tape with a squeegee, credit card or your thumb.
This removes air bubbles and helps every part of the decal cling to the clear transfer tape.
4. Remove the Paper Backing
Turn the decal face down. Slowly peel the white paper backing away from the decal.
If any part of the decal remains attached to the paper backing:
- Lower the backing into place.
- Rub firmly over that area again.
- Slowly try peeling the backing away once more.
Do not rush this step.
5. Position and Press
Carefully lower the decal onto the prepared surface.
Once the decal touches the surface, rub firmly over the clear transfer tape. Begin in the center and work outward to secure the design and remove air bubbles.
6. Remove the Transfer Tape
Slowly peel away the clear transfer tape at a sharp angle, keeping it close to the surface.
If any part of the decal begins to lift:
- Lower the transfer tape back into place.
- Rub firmly over the lifting area.
- Continue peeling slowly.
After Application
Wait approximately 24 hours before washing your vehicle. This gives the adhesive time to bond fully to the surface.
Troubleshooting
The decal will not release from the paper backing
Lower the backing and rub firmly over the affected area. Turn the decal face down and peel the backing away slowly rather than lifting the decal upward.
The decal lifts with the clear transfer tape
Lower the transfer tape, press and rub the area again, then peel the tape slowly at a sharp angle.
I see air bubbles
Before removing the clear transfer tape, rub from the center of the decal outward. Work slowly and apply firm, even pressure.
How Long Will My Decal Last?
My Pickle Crew car decals are made from premium outdoor vinyl designed to withstand sun, rain and regular trips to the pickleball courts.
Actual longevity depends on the surface, application and care. Proper surface preparation and careful installation will help your decal look its best for as long as possible.
Removing Your Decal
From Glass
Carefully remove the decal using a razor scraper designed for glass.
From a Painted Surface
Do not use a razor blade on painted surfaces.
Warm the decal using a hair dryer or a heat gun on its lowest setting. Slowly peel the decal away from the surface.
Any remaining adhesive can be removed with an automotive-safe adhesive remover. Always follow the product instructions and test it on an inconspicuous area first.
Before You Continue
If the decal does not release from the backing or begins lifting with the transfer tape, lower it back into place, rub the affected area firmly and peel again slowly at a sharp angle.
Application results can vary depending on the condition of the surface, surface preparation and installation. Please review all instructions before beginning.
